This took me a while! I had to refresh my biology and read a ton of info about the evolution of humans to understand the evolution of my fictional fox species.
First of all, in my story. Humans became extinct about the 51st century. That was the peak of the Holocene/Lunar mass extinction. I chose foxes due to their ability to thrive among humans and any other environment on earth. About 1,000,000A.D. The earth suffered a phase of glaciation that almost turned the earth into a snowball, but due the the shifting of earth's new ring it let more heat to be trapped. Due to this, foxes kept their tails. (I had to find a reason to keep them) But, the new species (Vulpes-sapiens) Call our world Evalen and they are in a sence our 'replacements' |
